General Information

  •  Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Applicants must be black as defined by the BBBEE codes of good practice (Black, Coloured or Indian)
  • No applications will be considered after the closing date
  • The bursary is awarded on both merit and financial need

Minimum Requirements

  •  You have to be a South African citizen to be eligible to apply for this bursary
  • Attain a minimum average of 65% in your latest academic results
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • The bursary is open only to fields of studies towards the Chartered Accounting stream e.g BCom (Acc), BAcc
    or BBusSc offered at a registered University in South Africa

Instructions for submission of application forms

  • Documents that accompany the application form must be certified
  • Only recommendation letters from the school or community leaders will be considered; this excludes friends and
  • Application forms to be emailed to the specified email address or postal address
  • Ensure that you have completed the checklist (page 9)

Bursary amounts

The Foundation will use its discretion for the allocation of funds for every student selected which are reviewed and subject to change annually.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RGLF FOUNDATION BURSARY

  • The Foundation is a Public Benefit Organization in terms of Section 30 of the Income Tax Act, 1962, which was created with  the  main objective being the provision of scholarships, bursaries and awards for study.The bursar undertakes:
    • To adhere to principles and goals of the RGLF Foundation
    • To abide by the terms of payment of fees of the bursary
    • To comply with all rules and regulations and other requirements of the institution and to conduct himself/herself at the institution at all times in a proper and reasonable manner;
    • To conduct himself/herself in a proper and reasonable manner during any period of study as well as in his/her relationship with the Foundation and/or the institution and/or the personnel of any one or more of such parties;
    • Not to engage in any remunerative occupation during the period of his/her qualification, unless the prior written consent of the Foundation is obtained.
    • To attend all
    • Not voluntarily discontinue, interrupt, alter or suspend his/her qualification or lectures or any course before obtaining the qualification, unless the prior written consent of the Foundation is obtained;
    • Not to register at a different institution, unless the prior written consent of the Foundation is obtained;
    • To produce in writing all his/her examination results to the bursary administration, as soon as they become available, but not later than 7 days after the date on which the results were made known by the institution to the scholar;
    • To advise the Foundation immediately in writing of any material change of circumstances relevant to the scholarship
